Freeze Dryer Guide Australia compares home freeze dryers for Australian buyers. It exists because the category is sold on promises and bought on hope, and because almost nothing published about it in this country carries a source or a date.

It does not, yet. There is no tracking link anywhere on this site and nothing here has earned anything. That will change if an application is approved, and when it does, the notice at the top of the affected pages will change automatically, because it is generated from the same configuration this section reads.

How it makes money, preciselySourced, dated, checkable
Flo-Max Pumps, freezedryers.com.au, Vevor, Kmart have no affiliate program at all, so they can never pay us whatever we write. We mention that because one of them is the only Australian reseller that services a vacuum pump, which is the single most useful fact on the reseller comparison, and it belongs to the company with no commercial relationship to us.
The seller that could pay us is also, on the data, the cheapest on every configuration we could match. That is convenient, and convenient findings deserve more scrutiny than inconvenient ones. So the comparison is published as a table of matched pairs with the sellers and prices shown, rather than asserted, and the exclusions are stated: refurbished units and factory seconds are kept out of those pairs because they are not the same product as new stock, and including them would have inflated two comparisons into figures that are not true.
We do not make health claims. The site covers what these machines physically do to food, what published research reports, and what it does not establish. On freeze drying breast milk we reach no conclusion at all, carry no affiliate link, and point readers to a clinician, because it is a medical question and this is an appliance site.
We also do not invent test results, do not publish stock photography as though it were our own testing, and do not quote figures we cannot attribute. Where a widely repeated claim could not be traced to its supposed source, we say that instead of repeating it.
If something here is wrong, it is worth telling us, and the fix will be made rather than quietly argued with. Several figures on this site exist because a first attempt at them was wrong and got caught: a price comparison that had merged refurbished stock with new, a disclosure that described a seller's program incorrectly, and a data file that contradicted its own records. Those are recorded in the files rather than tidied away.
Not at present. 3 of the sellers we cover run affiliate programs, we have not been approved for any of them, and there are no tracking links anywhere on the site. When that changes, the notice at the top of each page changes with it, because it is generated from the program configuration rather than written by hand.
No, and we will not imply otherwise. Everything here comes from manufacturer specifications, retailer listings and published sources, each with a link and the date it was read. If we ever do test one, the measurements will be labelled as measured, with the method and the date, and kept in a separate column from manufacturer figures so the two can never be confused.
Because they are not published, and pretending otherwise would be the easiest way to make this site useless. Of the 24 Australian listings we sourced, 0 publish a cycle time and 2 publish a wattage. Across every machine from every brand, 0 of 29 publish how much finished food comes out. Those gaps are recorded as values rather than left blank, because in this category the absences are often the most useful thing on the page.
It is written and maintained by one person in Australia, with research assistance. We are not naming a fictional panel of experts, we are not claiming credentials we do not hold, and we are not a laboratory. What we can do is read every listing, record what it says and what it does not, and show our working.
