Four sellers, 24 priced listings, and three findings that matter more than any of the marketing copy on their product pages. One seller is cheaper than another on every machine they both list. One publishes double the warranty of the other two. And one, which is not a food retailer at all, is the only one that will actually repair the part most likely to break.

The four sellersSourced, dated, checkable
Five Harvest Right configurations are listed new by both OzFarmer and Freezedryers.com.au. OzFarmer is cheaper on all five of them, by $600 to $1,001. Same brand, same model, same tray count, same finish, same pump. It is a plain arithmetic finding that happens to favour a seller running an affiliate program we are not part of, so it is shown as a table you can check rather than asserted.
| Configuration | Cheaper | Price | Dearer | Price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harvest Right PRO Large (6 tray), stainless steel | OzFarmer | $9,999 | Freezedryers.com.au | $11,000 | $1,001 |
| Harvest Right PRO Large (6 tray), powder coated black | OzFarmer | $9,399 | Freezedryers.com.au | $10,399 | $1,000 |
| Harvest Right PRO X-Large (7 tray), stainless steel | OzFarmer | $15,500 | Freezedryers.com.au | $16,500 | $1,000 |
| Harvest Right PRO Medium (5 tray), powder coated black | OzFarmer | $7,899 | Freezedryers.com.au | $8,499 | $600 |

Finding one: the same machine costs more at one of themSourced, dated, checkable
Refurbished units and factory seconds are excluded from every pair above, and this is not a technicality. They are not the same product as new stock, and including them would have inflated two of these comparisons into figures that are simply not true. The used Large at $7,999 sits $3,001 under the dearest new listing of its own size, and the used X-Large at $12,500 sits $4,000 under. Neither gap is a cross-seller price difference. Every pair on this page is new against new.
CryoDry publishes 24 months. OzFarmer and Freezedryers.com.au publish 12 months. That is the single largest difference in published terms across these four sellers, and it is not a small one on a machine in this price bracket.
The reason is structural rather than generous. CryoDry sells its own brand through its own Australian entity, so a claim goes to an Australian company at an Australian address. The others are passing on a United States manufacturer's Limited International Warranty, under which Harvest Right determines eligibility, supplies parts at its option, and leaves the owner paying local labour and the freight on parts.
The length is published and the terms are not. CryoDry's support page carries no warranty conditions, no statement of who honours a claim, no exclusions and no separate treatment of the vacuum pump. The full terms exist only in a downloadable PDF. Read it before relying on the 24 months. And Flo-Max Pumps publishes no warranty length anywhere on the site, including the terms and conditions page, which on the most important single term for an Australian buyer is a genuine gap rather than an oversight on our part.
Worth remembering underneath all of it: Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply to a purchase from an Australian seller regardless of what any manufacturer warranty says, and none of these four sellers mentions them.
Flo-Max Pumps is the only seller here with a vacuum pump service operation in Australia. It has no affiliate program and will never pay this site anything, which is exactly why it is worth saying loudly. The pump is the component most likely to need work and the one an overseas manufacturer can help with least, so this is the most useful fact on the page.
Flo-Max is an industrial pump engineering business at Seven Hills in New South Wales that sells a freeze dryer as an adjacent product. It publishes two standing service lines nobody else here offers: on-site pump maintenance across Sydney and Greater Metropolitan Sydney, and off-site rebuilds from its own workshop with a final test certificate. The caveat belongs in the same breath as the finding, though: those pages describe industrial pump work and do not name home freeze dryer pumps specifically, and no turnaround time, repair price or repair warranty is published.
OzFarmer states that it does not service pumps here. CryoDry and Freezedryers.com.au make no statement either way, which we have recorded as unknown rather than reading it as a no. What all three do offer is whole replacement pumps and consumables from Australian stock at published AUD prices, which is replacement rather than repair. The full picture, including the Australian industrial vacuum firms that will rebuild these pump types without naming any freeze dryer brand, is in the pump register.
Seven of the 24 listings were marked out of stock on the day we checked, or 29 per cent of the market: 1 at OzFarmer, 6 at Freezedryers.com.au. Almost all were the largest sizes. If you want a top-of-range machine, treat every price as subject to a lead time nobody publishes.
Flo-Max is the odd one out and the most interesting of the four. It is not a food or preparedness retailer, it is an industrial pump engineering business at Unit 5/6 Stanton Road, Seven Hills NSW 2147 that also distributes Agilent and Boerger pumps, and it sells a freeze dryer as an adjacent product.
Trades as ozfarmer.com (the ozfarmer.com.au address redirects into the same store) and describes itself as 'Australasia's largest self-sufficiency store'. Product pages state 'As Australia's official distributor, OzFarmer assures an authentic product with a comprehensive international warranty, delivered to you from our warehouse in Australia'.
The only seller of the four with an Australian-certified machine of its own rather than a rebadged import: the CD8 carries the ANZ RCM mark plus European CE and North American cUL, and is HACCP International certified. CryoDry has an Australian office at Unit 31, 1 Talavera Road, Macquarie Park NSW 2113 and an Australian 1800 number (1800 730 746).
Positions itself as 'Australia Largest Range of Freeze Dryers' and it is the widest range of the four, carrying four brands. It is almost certainly the same operator as OzFarmer, or very closely linked: the two Shopify catalogues share an identical accessory list at identical prices down to the cent, both use the same delivery wording, and the LYVN warranty terms that govern machines sold on freezedryers.com.au are hosted on ozfarmer.com.
All 24 machines these four sellers publish a price for, cheapest first, exactly as listed. Where a figure is not published the table says so.

Every priced listingSourced, dated, checkable
One machine is absent from that table on purpose. CryoDry lists a CD60 Elite and its store returns a zero price, which means price on application rather than free, so no AUD figure exists for it to record.
Four sellers, between them carrying 24 priced listings: OzFarmer, which is the Australian Harvest Right distributor; Freezedryers.com.au, which carries Harvest Right alongside its own LYVN brand plus Stay Fresh and Cryonaut; CryoDry, which sells its own Australian-certified CD8 machines direct; and Flo-Max Pumps, a Sydney industrial pump engineering business that sells its own FFJ-400.
OzFarmer, on every Harvest Right configuration both of them list new. The gap runs from A$600 to A$1,001 depending on the model and finish. The two catalogues are close enough to be related, sharing an identical accessory list at identical prices, yet the machine prices differ by four figures, so it is worth opening both tabs before ordering.
CryoDry, which publishes 24 months against the 12 months published by OzFarmer and Freezedryers.com.au. The length is published; the terms are not. CryoDry's support page carries no conditions, no exclusions and no separate treatment of the vacuum pump, and the full terms sit in a downloadable PDF. Flo-Max publishes the words "Guaranteed warranty" and no length at all.
One of the four sellers publishes a vacuum pump service operation: Flo-Max Pumps, which runs on-site pump maintenance across Sydney and off-site rebuilds from a Seven Hills workshop. It has no affiliate program and pays this site nothing. The caveat is that those service pages describe industrial pump work and do not name home freeze dryer pumps specifically, and no turnaround time or repair price is published. The other three publish no repair service at all.
